Letters from Lockdown – Week 4

For over 30 years John Kee has been the head, heart and soul behind Summer Madness, a youth festival that has played a phenomenal role in shaping thousands of lives, young and old, for the gospel.

The apostle Paul responded to the call of God to go to Philippi, planted and partnered with the church there, and urged them to live lives worthy of the gospel. What does it mean for us to do likewise? We explore this through the filter of John’s journey with Summer Madness, from its planting through to the present day impact of the pandemic.

We chat about calling, endurance, enjoyment, the role of festivals in Christian formation, along with the impact of the pandemic on Summer Madness and young people. To top it all off, John gives us some fantastic food for thought as to the lessons he has been learning in lockdown, conveniently packaged into four words beginning with the letter ‘C’…
